Für Elise is Ludwig van Beethoven's Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor, WoO 59. Written around 1810 and published only in 1867, decades after his death, it is one of the most played piano pieces in the world. It is in 3/8 time, marked Poco moto, and its opening theme is often one of the first classical pieces students learn.
In this sample the right hand plays the opening E with the 5th finger (the pinky) and D♯ with the 4th. Editions differ, so edit any number on this page to try another fingering.
